Casa Mar de Serra, is a country house rebuild from the old Moleiro’s home. “Moleiro” was the person who used to live and work in the windmill (Moinho in Portuguese). When it was reconstructed over the ruins of the old mill only regional materials were used in order to maintain its idyllic rural environment in total harmony with the Natural Park of Candeeiros.

Only 2 kilometres away from the city of Rio Maior, is the ideal place to enjoy many moments of peace and tranquillity. The house possesses 2 spacious double rooms, a living room with a fireplace for the coldest nights, and a veranda where you will be able to see an amazing green valley with many trees extending until the city and where the morning sun is abundant.

Mar de Serra has a huge balcony with a privileged view to the mountain, a hammock and table for meals, where it is possible to contemplate the diversity of greens and live a unique experience.

The outdoor space allows you to enjoy the calm, peace and silence characteristic of the area, ideal to rest, relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Casa Mar de Serra has a bucolic beauty that provides an inviting environment to take walks on the surrounding mountains. For those that wish to know more about the local history and cultural there is a permanent exposition on the city of Rio Maior about the excavations of an extensive Roman Villa. The exposition has several items in display including two marble columns found by a farmer during the XIX century. There is also the Museu Rural e Etnográfico de S. João Ribeira, which has several antique furniture and objects from the past of this marvellous village.
