QUINTA DE SÃO CAETANO - VISEU

Quinta de São Caetano, situated near the historical centre of Viseu, is a 17th century manor house with a graceful architectural structure and a privately owned adjoining chapel.

This beautiful manor house is part of the history of Viseu, having been residence of illustrious families of the city, such as the Viscountess of São Caetano. The house is surrounded by mystery, tradition, history and heritage and it even provided subject for a novel written by the famous Portuguese writer Agustina Bessa-Luís.

In the garden, boasting with colorful flowers, guests are surprised by magnificent trees with hundreds of years, singing fountains, quiet lakes and romantic greenhouses. Here, guests can enjoy the excellent views of the Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain in mainland Portugal.
