Casa da Eira remounts to the 17th century and monks that belonged to the Convent of Sanfins de Friestas built it. It stopped being farming house and it was completely restored and adapted to joining the rural Tourism, it is maintaining its “Eira” (threshing floor) and “Espigueiro” (the original granary). It is surrounded by a calm garden organized in “socalcos” enjoying an excellent view over the Minho Valley.

How to Get There

From Porto Airport: Take the motorway A3 in direction to Valença. In Valença take the N101 to Monção. 8 km after turn right when you find a sign that indicate Gondomil, and 700 m after turn right again and you will find the House in left side of the road.

Once the farming residence of 17th century monks who belonged to the Convent of Sanfins de Friestas, Casa da Eira was completely restored and adapted for rural tourism. The property has preserved the old wheat threshing floor (eira) and the original granary (espigueiro). It has pleasant gardens and views over the valley.
