How to Get There

From Porto Airport: Take the A3 Road for Braga, turning off for the A11 to Guimarães, following the direction to Cabeceiras de Basto. Leave the motorway in Arco de Baulhe, and after pay the toll, follow the direction to Arco de Baulhe and from there follow the direction to Fafe. Around 1 km you will see a sign, saying Casa de Tojeira, on the right where you will see the house. The house is situated about 90km from Porto.

Situated in the romantic valley of the River Tâmega, this finely restored 17th century manor house has beautiful gardens and vineyards and produces its own excellent wine which can be tasted by guests. A whole array of leisure activities is at your disposal including cycling, rambling, swimming, hunting, horse riding and fishing.

HISTORY
Located in the beautiful region of Basto, famous by the Vinho Verde, the Casa da Tojeira, which, according to historical references, dates back to the 17th century, belonged to the noble family Pereira de Castro de Barros Velho do Amaral, that several times served His Majesty - The King of Portugal.
The actual owner of the house, Mário Bernardo de Magalhães e Sousa, restored it in 1979, fulfilling the dream of his godfather, lieutenant Bernardo Pereira de Castro, retaining its former glory.
In nowadays the Casa da Tojeira produces the famous Vinho Verde and, in harmony between the past and the present, provides to its guests a pleasant stay with all the confort.
